I got my first set of golf clubs when I was four years old. When I was that age, I played three or four times a year with my grandfather, who introduced me to the game. I had my first golf lesson when I was eight years old, but I did not take golf seriously until I was ten years old. I attended a PGA golf camp, and that is where the game became addictive for me. I played on the PGA Jr. League team at The Legacy of Springfield and made the All-Star team. In October of 2018, I began taking from a new golf instructor, Garrick Malone at Riverside Golf Center, in Old Hickory, TN. Through that offseason, he and I made some HUGE changes to my golf swing. I improved from a 30 handicap to an 18 handicap in six months! Even though I am homeschooled, I played middle school golf for Greenbrier Middle School. That year our team had a 10-1 season and placed third in our Regional Championship. I played my first Sneds Tour Tournament that May and WON. I went on to win six out of my eight tournaments that season including the regional championship! Sadly, this winning streak came to an end in September. I went through a tough time in a tournament at Two Rivers Golf Course in Nashville, TN. I shot 90 on day one and 79 on day two. This was a great learning experience for me. I realized that winning every time is not a reality. I played my last golf tournament of the decade at Nob North GC in Cohutta, GA. Day one had wind gusts of over forty miles per hour! Because of this, I didn’t play well and shot 81. On day two, starting on hole four, I had a migraine throughout the entire tournament. At that time, I had no medication to take for this. I was able to finish the round with a 90. Since then, my instructor and I have made many changes, and we both feel that I am swinging the club very well. I have some very good tournaments scheduled and cannot wait to see what the future holds.
Me Outside of Golf
Even though I spend most of time with golf, I enjoy many other activities. I spend a lot of time focusing on school and academics. My favorite hobby is computer programing. I am a freelance web developer who operates under the name of Render Results. I designed, manage, and host the website you are on right now! You can view my web development site here: renderresults.com. Another hobby of mine is physical exercise. I enjoy exercising every day to help stay in shape, along with preventing injury in the golf swing.
